Assistant Controller

Department: Accounting

Reports to: Global Controller

The Assistant Controller will manage accounting and financial activities and staff members.

Primary Duties

  • Build a high performing accounting team by coaching and developing staff to ensure they are knowledgeable of best practices and deliver top notch results.
  • Develop short-term and long-term goals and objectives for the accounting department in consultation with management, and measure performance using key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Help prepare financial statements and monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports.
  • Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Oversee the general ledger and journal entries.
  • Perform month, quarter and year end close.
  • Assist with preparing the annual budget and forecasts, monitoring the budget, and analyzing and reporting on variances to budget.
  • Ensure all accounting practices are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Assist with treasury management and oversee bank accounts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create and maintain internal controls and policies.
  • Research and identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records.
  • Manage audits, assist auditors and gather documentation as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Primary Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Six or more years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job such as:
    • Safely navigating a manufacturing environment
    • Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs
    • Extended periods of sitting; occasional standing and walking
    • Using computer, phone and office equipment

Salary Range

  • $90k-$110k based on experience/qualifications
